HIRE ME,
MAYBE
Producer, Pilot Episode
ABOUT
Host Selena turns rejection into redirection as she takes on the role of a journalist for the day. Engaging with Toronto's downtown scene, Selena explores what it takes to turn passion into profession.
Creating an inclusive experience
for all
This project was a first for me.
Working with equipment and technical systems that were largely unfamiliar to me, I was responsible for managing all equipment bookings and overseeing the technical set up of the production. I was also responsible for all crew hiring, shoot day schedules, and producing on set.
I adapted with proactiveness and collaboration.
Consulting with advisors and peers, I developed a comprehensive equipment list tailored to our production needs. I was able to refine my understanding through experience across our multiple shoot days. Learning from my production courses through RTA's School of Media, I onboarded a talented crew and efficiently ran shoot days, in tandem with the directors.
Community and connection, on and off screen.
We proudly fostered an all-women team to bring this project to life.
Two-time nominee of the TARA Awards, presented by the RTA School of Media.
In March 2026, Hire Me, Maybe was nominated for Best EDI Project, and Best On-Air Host.

MY PROCESS
PRE PRODUCTION
Creating the production book was the first thing we completed as a team. Collaboratively, we completed elements including mock call sheets, an overall production schedule, budget, draft scripts, and technical dressing plans.
Once this was completed, I rented equipment and began crew hiring processes.
PRODUCTION
Once shoot days were locked in, I created production schedules in distributed call sheets, in tandem with my team. On shoot days, I maintained contact with crew, managed equipment pick ups and drop offs, dealt with on-site production issues, and time kept to ensure we remained on schedule.
POST PRODUCTION
As a producer during post-production, I distributed reimbursements to crew and executive teams, and kept accurate archives of our finances. Once post-production was complete, I submitted Hire Me, Maybe to the TARA Awards.
